What happens across the drive

  1. Before you set off

You see how many fixed cameras, EDS corridors and control points are on your route. Nothing arrives as a surprise.

  2. While you drive

It runs in the background. Your navigation stays on screen; you never have to switch to YolRadar.

  3. Approaching a camera

A spoken warning, and on the car screen with CarPlay. Only for points on your side of the road — the opposite carriageway stays quiet.

  4. Inside a corridor

It flags the entrance and tracks your average through the corridor. That average is what decides the fine at the exit, not your speed at any one moment.

Where international speed camera apps fall short in Turkey

Across reviews of 68 rival apps on the App Store, the three commonest complaints are stale data, not working alongside navigation, and Turkey coverage. All three come back to where the data comes from.

What General speed camera apps YolRadar
Data source Mostly crowd-sourced reports Ministry publication + a cross-checked set
EDS corridors Marked as a single point, or missing Modelled as entry, exit and average speed
Turkey coverage One slice of a global dataset All 81 provinces, compiled for Turkey alone
Navigation Pushes its own navigation on you Runs in the background beside the one you chose
Direction Warns for the opposite carriageway too Only points on your side of the road

The data in the app

The app carries the same dataset as this site — approximate here, exact in the app.

2,268
cameras and control points
400
EDS corridors
81
provinces
329
prepared routes

Average-speed corridors come from T.C. İçişleri Bakanlığı’s public disclosure; fixed cameras and control points from YolRadar’s own cross-checked set.

Mobile and handheld patrols are not in this dataset. Location is processed on the device and never sent to a server. YolRadar is not an official government app, a radar detector, or a replacement for your navigation.

Drive with camera warnings

Keep your navigation app. YolRadar speaks up from the background.

Frequently asked questions

Which kinds of enforcement does YolRadar show?
Fixed speed cameras, EDS average-speed corridors and junction control points. Corridor data is verified against the Turkish Interior Ministry’s public disclosures; fixed cameras and control points come from YolRadar’s own cross-checked dataset. Mobile and handheld patrols are not included.
Does it work with Google Maps or Apple Maps?
Yes. YolRadar runs in the background and gives a spoken warning, so you keep using whichever navigation app you prefer — Google Maps, Apple Maps or Yandex Navi.
Is it free?
The app is free to download and the core camera warnings are free. There is an optional Pro subscription through Apple for extra features.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, with CarPlay support so warnings appear on the car screen. It also runs on iPad. There is no Android version.
Is my location sent anywhere?
No. Location is processed on the device and is never sent to a server.
How is this different from the Interior Ministry’s İller Arası Radar page?
The Ministry’s “İller Arası Radar ve Kontrol Noktası Uygulama Sayıları” page gives the number of cameras and control points per province. It carries no locations, no map and no warning while you drive, and it is meant to be read before you set off. YolRadar builds on the same corridor data, then puts the points on a map, answers a route between any two places, and runs in the background beside the navigation app you chose to speak up as you approach. They are not alternatives: one is a statistic, the other is a driving assistant.
Is this a radar detector?
No. YolRadar shows recorded fixed enforcement from published data. It does not detect radar signals and does not track live police positions, and it is not an official government app.
